|Dr Bhardwaj completed his MBBS in 1982 from Armed Forces Medical College, Pune (consistently placed as the number three medical college in the country). He served as a medical officer in various locations as well as at Siachen Glacier (1984) and at Jaffna, Sri Lanka as a member of the IPKF (1988).
He did his DLO (Diploma in ENT) from the Indira Gandhi Medical College, Nagpur in 1987.
He completed his MS, ENT, from AFMC, Pune in 1990 and won the Silver Award for standing First in the grading exam from amongst all the service candidates.
He became a Diplomate of the National Board (DNB, ENT) in 1994.
He has performed a large number of Ear Nose Throat and Head and Neck Surgeries in the Army as well as after his release from service. He performs on an average 2 to 3 ENT procedures/ surgeries in a day.
From1990 to 1993 he was posted as ENT Specialist at Command Hospital, Chandigarh, a 600-bedded key medical establishment of the Army. In recognition of his good work he was shifted to the Army Hospital (Referral and Research Hospital), Delhi, the premier hospital of the Indian Armed Forces. He served here till 1997 and took voluntary discharge from the Army. At the time of release he was a recognized Post-Graduate teacher in ENT for the Delhi University. For recognition of his good services he was awarded the ‘Chief of Army Staff Commendation Card’ in 1993.
From 1997 to date Dr Bhardwaj has been attached with some of the most prestigious hospitals of South Delhi and Gurgaon, including Max Hospitals, Head OF ENT at Artemis Hospital Gurgaon, and currently Head of ENT, Head and Neck and Cochlear Implant Surgery at the Columbia Asia Hospitals, Palam Vihar, Gurgaon.
He has a well-trained team dedicated towards the Cochlear Implant Programme, and has successfully performed many such surgeries in the past.
He has been actively involved with activities of the ENT Association and has been an office bearer with the National as well as the local Delhi Branch for many years including being the President of the Delhi Branch of ENT Specialists (nearly seven hundred members from Delhi and the NCR Region) in 2004-2005. He is also actively involved with the Delhi Medical Association, South Delhi Branch.
He has been giving presentations in the field of ENT at a National level, including charing of sessions as well as attending Conferences and surgical workshops on a regular basis. On 05 Feb 06 he was hall moderator for the surgical session on a national level conference on phonosurgery at AIIMS. He holds regular medical conferences at Hospitals and at his Centre which are very well attended by the general doctors in the area as well as by ENT Specialists.
Dr Bhardwaj was the health consultant with leading TV channel ‘Aaj Tak’ from 2002 to 2005 where he was responsible for the health programme ‘Sabse Fit’. He was then the health consultant with the TV channel ‘Star News’ for the programme – ‘Apna Khyal Rakhiyega”. He was also the health consultant with UNITV and produced programmes with medical content.
He was a member of the Pilot Project established by the Government of India for setting up a National Programme for the Prevention of Deafness.
He chaired a session organized by the Occupational Health Department on the hazards of Industrial Noise Pollution.
Dr Bhardwaj jointly runs ENTITY Welfare and Education Society, a charitable organization which holds free camps in the nearby JJ clusters, with Residents Welfare Associations and other agencies.
