Dr. Prof. Vivek Gupta is an Interventional Neuroradiologist renownwed both nationally and internationally. With over 17 years of experience in this demanding and specialized field, he is deeply passionate about managing stroke patients. Dr. Gupta has contributed to the development of new imaging techniques and interventional procedures for the benefit of stroke patients, including pioneering the “”Mechanical Thrombectomy”” technique for stroke patients at PGI, and has trained many doctors in this technique.
Dr. Gupta is also recognized as one of the few doctors in the country to successfully treat Retinoblastomas, a type of eye tumor in infants and children, with endovascular techniques to preserve their eyesight. His exceptional work has been widely acknowledged in both national and international forums. Dr. Gupta has extensive experience teaching and mentoring, and many of his former students are now thriving in successful medical careers both in India and abroad.

5. Awarded 2nd prize in the best posters category for the poster ‘Percutaneous thrombin injection for the treatment of visceral pseudoaneurysms’ in an annual conference of ‘The Indian Society of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (ISVIR)’ held in October 2007 in Hyderabad
